Digital Cameras

In my classroom I would use a digital camera in the following ways:
1. I would take pictures of different states of matter and have the students do the came while conducting an experiment.
2. I would have the students take pictures to illustrate their vocabulary words.
3. I would have the students use a camera to illustrate the meanings of multiplication and division.
4. I would have my students create videos depicting the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
5. I would have my students use a camera to create a photo collage about how to survive an earthquake.

Today in class we used Publisher to create a newsletter. I think this is a great tool to teach children about how to make a newspaper. Each student could create their own newspaper about a time in history or even a scientific event. As a teacher I could also Publisher to teach my students how to write a proper letter. They could also use Publisher to make a newsletter for a book report they have read.

The three google tools I enjoyed the most today were google documents, google calander, and google maps. I want to use google documents as a way to improve my students writing and editing ablities. I like the idea of keeping the documents open and having students peer edit each others work. I enjoyed google calander becasue it is easy to use and can help keep the classeroom organized it will also allow parent to see what is happening in class and what assignments are coming up. I really like the idea of using google maps as a way of showing students want historical places look like today and having them reason out the cahnges in the area.
